Robo-Wrangler

Dive in to robotics hands-on by being a Robo-Wrangler for a week to deploy the robots on Westboro Beach or Mooney’s Bay Beach

Robo-Wrangler Position

Robot Missions is embarking on Municipal Trials this summer, bringing 3 robots daily to either Westboro Beach or Mooney’s Bay Beach. These robots (nicknamed Bowie) will be operating in zones to collect trash and train their datasets for artificial intelligence. We need your help! These robots will need to get to the beach each day, and return. This is a great way to learn about robots in a hands-on way, and see the role they will play in our future. Open to ages 15+.

As a Robo-Wrangler, you will be responsible for bringing a robot to the testing area each day (Monday – Saturday). You will sign up for one week long blocks. The location will either be Westboro Beach or Mooney’s Bay. This will start in May, and end in mid September. As a volunteer role, there is no monetary compensation, and you do not get to keep the robot.

Each day we will be testing improvements to the functionality, you are welcome to stay for portions of this to assist with the observation and recording of data. The return location of the robot will differ depending on the state of the robot; either returning with you for the next day, or back to MadeMill at 7 Bayview. Your main contact point throughout will be the Robot Missions Mission Operations Lead.
